Now I’ll admit to you straight away that this is not the kind of blog I’d be adding to my list of favorites. It’s about advertising and I’m just not the kind of person who enjoys reading a truckload of ads. I don’t like it when my mailbox is flooded with them. I don’t watch the home-shopping channels as a pastime either. I usually have better ways of using my time.

Then why bring it to your attention at all?

Well…

  1. For starters - because Mike is the first to launch a blog like this, it will draw an enormous amount of curiosity traffic and Mike *will* benefit from this himself definitely.
  2. It’s an interesting viral concept. Free advertising is bound to get a whole lot of people involved. Plus a lot of people spreading the word to their friends.
  3. It is even more interesting from a SEO point of view. Blogs are popular with the search engines so I’m curious more about how a blog like this can potentially help your own site to a good listing position because you’re linked with it.
  4. With so many people posting their ads, it makes a most interesting study of which headlines and body texts work and which don’t. So if you’re simply looking for some ad writing inspiration, I’d definitely take a look…
  5. Mike also added another new phenomenom which is currently a raving trend. Right at the top of his blog…

If you’re interested in studying internet marketing, you cannot miss out when a new trend is born. I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for how this trend develops. And I’m finding my own grey cells doing overtime already about how to copy the concept and mold it in such a creative way that it fits more with my ideas and still gets the benefit of lots of exposure.
