Every Problem is the Seed of an Opportunity…
My last newsletter (see blog post below) got an avelanche of responses…
Apparantly I was not the only one having a problem with the way some of the downloads were set up. And if this has kept you from purchasing a copy of Mark Joyner’s ‘The Irresistible Offer’ that’s a real shame. Because the book is really exceptional and deserves lots and lots of attention.
As for the downloads… Here’s a selection from some of the emails I received:
Thanks for the BRIBE tip. I’ve just started Simpleology 102, but I didn’t take the bribe. Quite honestly it was just too much reading matter all at once. Your warning opened my eyes too! - Jean
Let me try to ease your embarrassment. Many of the other bonuses were WAY worse than what you warned us about.
- First of all, I didn’t want about 75% of them, and of the few I selected, one “free” book cost $97.00 (I decided I didn’t need it. If it was handled more honestly, I would have gladly paid for it).
- One set of “Fabulous Internet Marketing Tips” that sounded like an e-book, turned out to be a subscription to his newsletter.
- Two people asked for credit card numbers for their “free” e-books. And you could NOT get the “free” book without giving your number. (I passed on those, too)
So between your email and my experience, I have learned to never, ever fall for a “bonus” offer again…
BTW, as I’m printing out yours, I have to say, yours and Randy Gage’s are just jam packed with value and I’m happy with them. - Rita
Dude I totally agree. What a freaking hassle. I think I’ll pick out some of the ones that I want, but certainly not worth the time to try to download them all. - Bryan
I just wanted to tell you THANKS for the e-mail telling about the MOAB! Most things I get have to do with business / marketing, but this had a lot of personal self-improvement content, and we all need that, so I rushed and got it! - Carlos
How true, how true your memo is about the “extras”! I have been dealing with the same people for a while, and half the time I don’t download any of the “free bonus” stuff. When I do, I pay dearly by an over filled email account. Thankfully I use my gmail account for “those” types of purchases. I believe, if I got a penny for each email I received from my free “Bonus”, I could take wife and daughter to your country for the Holidays every four months! - Tony
This reminds me of my experience with lesser offers, only more so, but you are the first person that has publicly sympathized, so thanks for being human and forgetting the hype. Since every problem is the seed of an opportunity… ~ Eugene
Take a second look at that last line again:
Since every problem is the seed of an opportunity…
Eugene continued his email with a most interesting solution to save people lots of time when they want access to a ton of bribes. And I will definitely tell you more about this, but not today…
Now I have to be honest with you. When I wrote my last message it was in the spur of the moment after just having experienced the exhaustion and everything from trying to get to those bonuses. And being guilty myself of having made (yet another) contribution to this mother of them all, I’m feeling a bit awkward.
I’m pretty sure that when the other contributors find out what I wrote you, it’s not going to make me very popular. Perhaps my impulse just flushed a 100 JV opportunities down the drain… However, information overload is an absolutely real and serious threat to your sanity - it’s often what pushes people over the edge and causes burn-outs or worse. So I really don’t regret sending it.
Then I do feel that since I started this, I should also make an effort of spinning this situation round in a positive way. And after reading Eugene’s email it dawned on me that you and I and everyone else who reads this could help prevent something similar from happening again.
We as consumers actually have the power to create a win-win situation for both the contributors of the bribes and ourselves if we speak up and tell them what we liked and what we didn’t like and how we would prefer to be bribed in the future. But I do need your help…
The Internet Bribing Revolution!
Actually it’s really simple. All I ask from you is to tell me (us contributors) what you liked and didn’t like about the way we made our bonus offers available to you. And if possible, your perfect scenario for the next bribe.
Remember it has to be a win-win solution! The contributors are into this for getting some additional exposure and an opportunity to build their lists. You are into this for… ? The challenge is to find a place where contributor and consumer meet in a mutual satisfying and beneficial way.

I’ve put together a short pdf to assist you if you need some extra thoughts about solving problems and satisfying wants and needs. You can download this from:
www.marketingfrontline.com/dlc/SituationSpinSpecial.pdf
(It’s an excerpt from the actual contribution I made to the Mother of All Bribes, so if you already have that document - IdeaInception-MOAB.pdf - you can find this chapter at page 60.)
Then what I will do is to make sure that all of this is read by Mark Joyner and Joe Vitale - I promiss I’ll harrass them till they do
- and also brought to the attention of all the other contributors.
I’m confident that between all of us we can make a difference. So that next time a bribe is offered on the internet, contributors will know how to appeal to the customers and make it a pleasant experience for us all.
One voice shouting in the desert won’t get heard. If we team up on this one however, we can cause a small revolution to occur. So I’m counting on you to let your voice be heard as well!
Thank you very much already. You’re awesome!
Patricia
P.S.
On a final notice - the bribes that were contributed to the Mother of All Bribes were pretty good in my humble opinion. Actually, they are incredibly better than with most bribes and you got to hand it to Joe and Mark that they did an awesome job on getting everyone to contribute this.
Just to make perfectly clear I have no problem with these whatsoever. It’s about how we can improve the way they can be obtained!
